About The Award
Irrechaa Award
The Irrecha Award was instituted by NAFSI Event organizer in 2018 to recognize those elders, Ababa Gedas’, Had sinqes’, intellectuals, youths, think thank groups, governmental organizations, NGOS, Embassies, private companies, universities, communities, and individuals in Ethiopia through whose efforts conflict was turned to peace, the heritage culture was kept to continue and transferred to the generation, and who are actively working in the country’s cultural heritage with full effort and diligence.
In 2018 the Award was extended to Dr. Artist Ali Bira, in the hope that it would promote peace, create role models and instill a sense of pride in the people of the Ethiopia with non-seasonal and heart touching music that breathed peace among the people and make them to think identical as education is the key for peace and make the people of Oromia to build hosting hall for Abba Geda.
Irrechaa Award
Nominations for the recipient of the Irrecha Award are sought widely throughout Ethiopia. Final selection of the recipient is made by the professionals selected by NAFSI PLC and Oromia Tourism Bureau. The governing principles for awarding of the Irrecha Award are:
- Solving the conflict between regions of Ethiopia, between political parties or different institutions and the protection of and respect for human rights and peaceful settlement of disputes;
- Good governance of public affairs.
- Keeping the cultural heritage with its ceremony and transfer to the next generation with no mix of religion
- Individuals or organizations who are currently working actively in the cultural heritage or indigenous system of governing one tribe or region or country. Example people who are working in Abba Geda.
Presentation
The Irrecha Award is presented at five star hotels evening in Finfine, Ethiopia,. The presentation is accompanied by musical bands, speech by the respected gusts, shows and cultural demonstrations.
